For you

Using Broker Finder

Is Broker Finder really free?

Yes — completely free for you, with no catch and no hidden fees later. Brokers on our panel pay us a fee when we introduce them to clients, which is how we keep the service free for consumers. That fee never changes what you pay your broker.

Will I get spam calls?

No. This is the whole point of Broker Finder. You stay anonymous while you review your matches, and we never sell or pass on your data. The only person who can ever contact you is the one broker you personally choose to connect with.

How does the anonymous matching work?

Your questionnaire answers — never your identity — are matched against our panel. To brokers you’re a case number, like “Buyer #4821”. Brokers whose specialisms fit your situation put themselves forward, and you compare them side by side before deciding who to speak to.

When do you share my details?

Only when you actively choose a broker and ask us to make the introduction. Until that moment, brokers see your case, not your name — no phone number, no email, nothing that identifies you. And it’s always one broker, not a list.

What if I don’t like any of my matches?

Then choose nobody. Your details were never shared, so there’s nothing to undo — no calls, no follow-ups, no trace. You can come back and run the questionnaire again whenever the time is right.

Can I use it for a remortgage or buy-to-let?

Yes. The questionnaire covers first mortgages, remortgages, buy-to-let and the out-of-the-ordinary — self-employed income, complex credit histories, new-builds and more. Matching works on your kind of case, so specialists find you.

Brokers & mortgages

The bigger questions

Do I need a mortgage broker at all?

That’s your call — but it’s worth knowing what each route gets you. Going direct to a bank means seeing that bank’s products only. A whole-of-market broker can compare deals across many lenders — including some that aren’t available direct — and handles the application legwork. A short conversation usually makes the trade-off clear, and with Broker Finder that conversation is free and happens on your terms.

How do mortgage brokers get paid?

Usually one of three ways: a procuration fee paid by the lender when your mortgage completes, a fee charged to you, or a combination. Every broker must set out their fees clearly before you commit to anything — ask early, and a good broker will tell you without flinching.

Separately, brokers pay Broker Finder for introductions. That cost is theirs, not yours, and it doesn’t change what you pay.

Are the brokers regulated?

Yes. Every broker on our panel is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and we vet each one — including checking their FCA registration — before they join. If a broker doesn’t meet our standards, they don’t get on the panel.

Do you give mortgage advice?

No. Broker Finder is a trading style of Collect Compare Ltd, an introducer — not a lender or a mortgage broker — and nothing on this site is financial advice. Our job is the matchmaking; the advice comes from the FCA-authorised broker you choose, with all the protections regulated advice carries.

What happens to my data?

Your questionnaire answers are stored securely and shared with brokers only in anonymous form until you choose to connect. We use first-party, cookieless analytics — no ad trackers, no data brokers, no “selected partners”. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

I’m a broker — how do I join?

Head to the broker page. Registration takes a few minutes; we verify your FCA authorisation before you go live, your first three leads are free, and billing is weekly with no contracts.

Question answered? Good.

The next one takes two minutes and doesn’t need your name.
